The La Roja District, Fact or Fiction???
If you wait and turn right at the traffic light you will be on the "road from hell's" brother until you get to another traffic light where you will turn right again. The Alamo Hotel will be on the left side of the street. At the entrance you step down and you will see a pool table and to the back, on the left, is the bar. The Alamo is open for "hanky panky" early. I had said hello to a cabbie going in and saw the bar and a couple of girls and sat down. The girls only speak and understand Spanish. "Un Corona por favor" I asked. The beer box still had a padlock on it so we had to wait until the regulation barkeep showed up. The girls were on their best behavior. The cabbie came in and had a couple of beers and I was lucky he spoke Spanish so he was my translator. I inquired how much it would cost to stay a week. That brought some snickers...hahaha. I had the girls sign my notes and one was Carmen and the other was Pati. They asked if I would like to see a room even though they said it wasn't air conditioned and the hotel didn't have telephones. Gazing across the bar I saw a pool that had no water and following Pati to her room for a look I passed an open door and there seemed to have litter on the floor. Pati got to room 12 and opened her door. It looked rather sparce as you can see by the photo. I took my pic and determined if I did stay at a bordello after my stay at the Club Mesa del Mar, it would have to be air conditioned and have a telephone for the internet. Of the two girls, Pati was the most pleasant to look at. Carmen was a bit rough, looking as though she had been ridden rough and put away wet many times.... The bartender when he did arrive was called Juan and Rachel, his wife, that was wanting to smooch on him. Carmen got 20 Pesos from him and returned with three huge glasses of chocolate milk. I explained to everyone that I was just their on a "fact finding" mission for my friends and was not there to mix business with pleasure. Ignacio, was the name of the cabbie who told me of another place but the bridge to it was closed because of hurricane damage. There are several other "gentlemen's clubs" that I will report on later. The nicest little 44 room bordello in Puerto Vallarta, the Alamo Hotel, is for sale. It is next to the airport and is only $600,000 Pesos. You can call the owner, Jorge Correl at phone number 011 523 2 2234020 in Puerto Vallarta.
El Mirador I was a little late returning to the Alamo Hotel but did see Ignacio's cab and invited him back in. Ignacio had become a helpful friend in admiring the girls and asking the girls my questions. Momma was there with Carmen and another girl. I took notes on corrections and some more pictures and got some prices for those that are interested. Momma made some corrections but I ran off and left my notes. After one Corona Ignacio and I headed off to the bar I had not been able to reach the previous day because of the bridge damage. The directions for those driving north from Puerto Vallarta are: Take the Ixtapa exit and turn right at the stoplight on the highway. Remember there is about 1 block that is the brother of "the road from Hell" and you encounter a stop light. Continue straight until you see a town square on your right. Turn left at the far side of the square and go several blocks until you see the sign below. Returning, the road before the town square is one way back for a ways, then turn left one block and then right back on the main street that took you from the traffic light to the town square.
The El Mirador doesn't look like much on the outside and when you get inside you realize it has a thatched roof and the tables and chairs are plastic sitting on a gravel floor. Once inside, you notice farmers enjoying the conversation of the ladies, the farmers enjoying the beer and the music of the jukebox and the ladies enjoying the sangria. Jeeps, cars and John Deere tractors are parked on the street. The girls work there as hostesses making more from tips than the $5 a day that they could make at Walmart. What kind of work is that? Martha kind of directs the girls to tables where they have been requested, and the girls drink sangria and keep the men company. Noemi is the one full of life, who listens to the boring stories of the men and laughs and jokes. Perhaps This is not the kind of bar single men would frequent because they only speak and understand Espanol. Ignacio liked the girl in blue, Rosy and her friend was Mary. Martha directed them to our table. Rosy is 20 and Mary is 19 and both are single mothers. Mary was asked if she was a virgin before she became pregnant and she said yes but the father of her child had left them. Rosy's story was similar. They were both quiet. Mary had a nice smile. Ignacio said that perhaps on their day's off they could have a friend over. This was not a bordello but a nice neighborhood bar.
